We had nothing but trouble with this sling and I definitely would not recommend it. It's far too short and the fabric is too stiff making it very hard to pull through the rings to adjust it.

My partner wanted this particular sling as it's black and he thought he'd look more manly!! I could never get on with it as I found once it was on I couldn't tighten it at all but he persevered (he's very stubborn). It ended up tearing as the fabric just wouldn't pass through the rings when pulled. Now I'm no sling expert but I think it's safe to say that's not what you want in a sling!

So I would certainly avoid this sling and buy a decent one from somewhere that actually specialises in slings and knows what they're doing.

Oh POO! I've just lost a reply I'd written! Never mind, I'll try again...

Thanks for the sling advice Claire. I've spoken to someone at that shop you recommended the other week (was it this one? http://www.theoldtreehouse.co.uk/category/54/Slings_and_Carriers) and they say I don't even have to go in, but if I find one I like the look of on the website they'll send me one to try that way.
I'm desperate for a sling that Lucinda will happily go in. She is so clingy! She winges like mad if she doesn't have my attention (and only MY attention!) for a minute so it's impossible to get anything done unless she's asleep. I need something I can fasten her to me with!
I like the look of the Mei Tai slings.

No that's not the one but it looks like a great shop and if they'll let you try one out at home that sounds fantastic. The one I heard about is http://www.mama-licious.co.uk/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1. I'm going to pay them a visit at some point to try out some other types of slings, and also they sell cake!

Looks like we've found a couple of good shops between us! Fancy a day out?!

Sounds good to me!

I was thinking, do you want me to bring my slings to booby group on Friday and you can try them with Lucinda?

Yes please. That would be very useful. Def' interested in the Mei Tei (sp?), the wrap one might be too warm for summer?? Do you think??

Other way round I would think. The wrap is very light and, though it's hardwearing, it's fairly thin. The Mei Tai is padded so would probably be warmer. I think though that as long as baby is dressed in light clothing mum would regulate baby's temperature anyway, much like when co-sleeping. I'll bring both anyway and you can try them both out and see what you think.
